Brookfield Couple Charged with Larceny in Danbury
Danbury police charged a Brookfield couple with shoplifting after an incident on Newtown Road Wednesday.

A Brookfield couple was charged with shoplifting in Danbury after police saw a man running from Super Stop 'N Shop on Newtown Road with a bag of groceries.
The subsequent investigation showed the woman had gone into the store first and left empty handed. The man then entered and ran out with a bag of groceries he hadn't paid for.
Police said Benjamin Mejias, 23, of Brookfield, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $5,000 bond.

Katie Rodrigues, 23, of Brookfield, was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. Rodrigues was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on December 17.
