Brookfield resident and podiatrist Dr. Samir Zaky was in court again last week after allegedly confronting an elderly witness in his trail on federal fraud charges, for which he was found guilty Friday.
According to a report in the CT Post, Zaky showed up at the 93-year-old’s home “hours after his conviction Friday.”
Zaky was arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court Saturday, where the judge revoked his bond and ordered him detained until sentencing in September, at which time he faces a maximum of 210 years in prison for a combined 28 charges of fraud.
Judge Holly B. Fitzsimmons said at arraignment that the decision to detain Zaky was “not a close call,” CT Post’s Michael Mayko reported. “Mr. Zaky demonstrated a desire to decide what he will cooperate with and what he won’t.”
