Brookfield Severe Weather Alert: Thunderstorms, Damaging Winds, Another Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued
BREAKING: Thunderstorms may be capable of damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours today with severe weather expected in the area.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A “Hazardous Weather Outlook” has been issued for all of Connecticut Tuesday for the chance of some strong to severe thunderstorms, especially this afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a “Special Weather Statement” for the northern part of the state.
On Monday, it seemed very likely that a good part of the state would see some stormy weather Tuesday, but now it appears to once again be an isolated situation. In a social media post Tuesday morning, NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan updates the complicated forecast.
“Really complex setup for today. A warm front is lifting toward Connecticut with a surge of more oppressively humid air. Yesterday it appeared that storms would fire up as the front moved through but today our computer models have really backed off on the storm chances,” Hanrahan wrote. “Still, we have a chance for scattered thunderstorms from midday through this evening across the state. The environment is ripe for severe weather (damaging winds, lightning, heavy rain, and tornadoes) but the question is will any storms form. We'll keep you posted as we know more.”
