Police Arrest Suspect in Investigation of Brookfield, Danbury Cocaine and Marijuana Sales
An assault rifle, a pistol, ammunition, illegal high capacity magazines and drugs were found in the man's Brookfield and Danbury homes.

DANBURY, CT — Members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (S.I.D.), Community Conditions Unit, General Investigations, the Brookfield Police Department and the FBI executed court authorized search and seizure warrants on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 for a Brookfield and Danbury residences in connection with an ongoing investigation, police said.

Police searched the homes located at 16 Cornell Rd, Danbury and 11 Old Turnpike Rd, Brookfield, as well as several vehicles owned by Ramon Monroig, 39, the suspect of a seven-month-long investigation of illicit drug sales throughout the Danbury and Brookfield area, police said.
Police began their multi-agency investigation after receiving several citizen complaints identifying Monroig as a substantial drug trafficker, according to a report. Investigators detected activity that was consistent with drug trafficking, police said.

Monroig and one of his cars were seized on Skyline Terrace, which lead to the seizure of a substantial quantity of both marijuana and cocaine and Monroig’s arrest, police said. Officers found additional drugs in the Danbury residence as well as an assault rifle, a pistol, ammunition and illegal high capacity magazines for the assault rifle, police said.
Monroig was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a narcotic substance, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a pistol, criminal possession of ammunition by a felon, criminal possession of high capacity magazines and risk of injury to a child, according to a police report.

His bond was set at $100,000.
