Lillian Olene Lawrence, 92, formerly of Pocono Road, Brookfield, wife of the late Donald E. Lawrence, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Candlewood Valley Health Care Center, New Milford, CT.
Mrs. Lawrence was born in Woodsbend, KY, August 8, 1920, daughter of the late Clifford and Bertha (Richards) May. She attended schools in Kentucky and graduated from Morehead College of KY.
In early years, Mrs. Lawrence was a legislative page and later an educator.
A resident of the area for the past 65 years coming from Kentucky, she enjoyed storytelling, gardening, crocheting and most especially devoting her time to her family.
She is survived by seven sons, William (Sonia) Lawrence, Ronald (Lisa) Lawrence, Robert (Bonnie) Lawrence, Gilbert (Gail) Lawrence, David Lawrence, Kevin (Diane) Lawrence and James Lawrence; two daughters, Sue-z (James) Frank and Donna (Lewis) Rebstock; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lawrence was predeceased by a son, Richard Lawrence.
Graveside funeral service and burial took place on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:45 a.m. in Section 21 of St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family received friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, July 7.
