- Positive Discipline is holding a free parenting class Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Town Hall room 129. Find out more at the event listing.

- The Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Lunch and Learn event Wednesday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Rocco’s Restaurant. The Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Recovery Workshop, “10 Steps to Preparedness,” is designed to help small business owners prepare for disasters.

- The Brookfield Library Teen Program is celebrating the right to read Wednesday evening by making crafts in honor of classic books that have been banned or challenged. The program starts at 5:30 p.m.

- The Brookfield Open Space Legacy has its annual meeting Thursday night at 7 p.m. in room 129 of Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

- The local Democratic candidates for Board of Selectmen, Board of finance and Board of Education will be at Brookfield Library Thursday night starting at 7 p.m. for a meet-and-greet event.

- The first year of the Brookfield Farmers Market continues Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Town Hall parking lot. See the event listing for more information.

- Friday night the Library Teen Program is holding an interactive movie night featuring The Princess Bride. The listing encourages kids in grades 6-12 to “come quote along with the movie, sword fight in the aisles, drink the Iocane powder and rhyme everything you can.”
