Juveniles Arrested For Assaulting Brookfield Officers

Brookfield officers were assisting investigators from the Department of Children and Families serving court orders on two juveniles at a home on Pocono Road on June 26 when a fight broke out that lead to an adult and three minors being arrested and an adult and a minor being taken to the emergency room.

According to Brookfield police, while attempting to explain to family members the reasons for being there, some became very upset. A physical altercation developed and additional police officers were requested to assist.

One adult and one juvenile were transported to the Danbury Hospital Emergency Room. An officer was also treated at the scene by EMS personnel.

Madeline Griffin, 41, of Pocono Road, Brookfield, was charged with interfering with the duties of a police officer. She was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 9.

Two juveniles, whose names are not being released, were charged with assault on a police officer and interfering with the duties of a police officer. They were both released pending appearances at Danbury Superior Court Juvenile Matters on July 8.

Another juvenile was charged with risk of injury to a minor and interfering with the duties of a police officer and taken to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center.
