Update: State Police: Suspect Still at Large in Lake Lillinonah Home Invasion
BREAKING: Police describe the suspect in connection with a break-in and shooting and stay he has not been found, despite an earlier report.

BRIDGEWATER, CT — Update 5:13 p.m.: As of 5 p.m. this evening, police are saying that the suspect has not been found last week's break-in. An earlier report on The News Times (below) stated that police caught the suspect, however, State Trooper Kelly Grant said Tuesday that was not the case.
The Western District Major Crime Detectives (WDMC) is continuing to investigate a home invasion at 606 S. Main St. in Bridgewater. A male victim sustained a gunshot wound in the August 4, 2016 break-in which occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m.
Troopers from Troop A-Southbury responded to 606 S. Main St. in Bridgewater for a reported gunshot victim and upon arrival, initiated medical care to the male victim, secured the area, and learned a home invasion had occurred. Police said that EMS responded to the scene and transported the male victim to Danbury Hospital for further evaluation. The male victim was conscious and alert talking to troopers on scene and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned or Hispanic male, who fled the scene prior to the trooper's arrival. The male suspect was believed to be in possession of a firearm and hiding in the heavily-wooded area between 606 S. Main St. and the boat launch at Lake Lillinonah. Troopers, State Police K9’s, and State Police Tactical Unit members searched the heavily wooded area for suspects with the assistance of the Brookfield Police Officers also assisted.
While on scene troopers located a vehicle reported stolen out of New York State on S. Main St. in Bridgewater, and are working to confirm if it is related to the home invasion. They located the firearm, a shotgun, in the immediate area and were notified by a resident that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway.

A stolen vehicle out of Bridgewater was reportedly located on N. Main St. in Waterbury and detectives responded to the Waterbury scene and are working to determine if that stolen vehicle is related to the original Bridgewater investigation.
State Police Troopers and Detectives continue the investigation and search for the suspect/s in this home invasion. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 203-267-2200 or text TIP711 with the information to 274637. All calls will be kept confidential.
Original post: 3:10 p.m.: The News Times reports that a suspect in last week’s home invasion and shooting on Route 133 near Lake Lillinonah in Brookfield/Bridgewater has been identified by police, however, State Police Trooper Kelly Grant told the paper that an arrest warrant is pending.
A South Main Street home located on Route 133 near the Lake Lillinonah bridge in Bridgewater, just a few miles from Brookfield, was broken into early last Thursday, according to The News Times, and the homeowner was shot.
Witnesses who called 911 told police they heard shots fired around 3:30 a.m. and saw the suspect fled the scene at a high rate of speed. One man who was inside of the home at the time was shot in the shoulder and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
A New Milford police officer observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed along Route 7 and the vehicle did not stop for police, the report said. Bridgewater town officials said they believe the car fleeing from New Milford police officers hit a roadblock on South Main Street and pulled into the victim's driveway to switch cars.
