Revolutionary War Reenactor to Present Program at Brookfield Museum and Historical Society

'Valley Forge the Myth and the Reality' will be presented at the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Historical Society and Museum is hosting a presentation on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. entitled— "Valley Forge the Myth and the Reality."

The multi-media presentation features speaker Joseph Cerreto who will present on the encampment at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania by Washington’s Continental Army in the winter of 1777. Cerreto will highlight how the army matured into a more professional fighting force, primed and ready to move onto the next level, according to Museum volunteer Gene Roberts.

Cerreto is a reenactor in the 2nd NY Regiment, a Revolutionary War recreation unit. Members of this regiment took part in most of the major combat actions in the Revolutionary War. Cerreto will appear in his period regimental uniform complete with musket and field equipment.
