Workshop, Online Survey Asks for Input on Four Corners Style

What kind of architectural style would you like to see in new development at Four Corners?

The Brookfield Land Use Department and commissions are looking for input on the design and architecture guidelines for the Four Corners area.

Residents can contribute in an online survey and at a workshop scheduled for Thursday night at the Brookfield Library.

The goal is to find out how the public wants the area to look as it develops.

“It’s about architectural style, as well as design of public spaces,” Community Development Director Katherine Daniel said, such as the types of facades and features allowed.

The online survey is a bit longer than ones put out by the Land Use Department in the past, though residents should be able to get through it in 15-20 minutes if they rush along, Daniel said.

If they have more time, there are opportunities to leave more details comments.

Daniel said there isn’t a firm deadline yet for the survey but ideally it should be finished by mid-December.

The workshop on Thursday — set for 7 p.m. in the library community room — is expected to run around 2 hours and includes a panel of architects and designs experts and a time for audience input and participation.

Food and drinks will also be served free of charge.

The results of the survey and workshop will be incorporated into the regulations for new development in the Town Center District (TCD), which includes Four Corners and the surrounding area.
