As the movie industry to prepares to go all digital, area residents have provided a groundswell of support for the Pleasant Valley Drive-In on River Road in Barkhamsted.
The theatre, operated continuously since 1947, is one of several across the country that is facing an uphill battle to raise the $80,000 needed to covert to the digital format.
One way to help is by voting for the theatre in a Honda contest called Project Drive-In. The company is donating five digital projectors and reader votes decide where they will go. Fans of the local theatre can vote for it at http://projectdrivein.com/#vote_113.
The contest runs through the night of Sept. 9, 2013.
