Canton Volunteer Fire Company Makes Gives Back
The CVFC donated money to the Emergency Fuel Bank, Food Bank and Historical Museum Receive Contributions.

Canton, CT January, 2016…Traditionally, Canton Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. (CVFC), begins the new year in the best way they know how – by giving back to their community. “In addition to the donations we make, throughout the year, to the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department, our membership chooses three organizations to receive additional contributions, from the net proceeds of our annual LobsterFest,” says CVFC president Joe Ouimette. “It’s a great way to start the year off.”
To that end, the following town organizations received donations of $1,000.00 each: Canton Emergency Fuel Bank; Canton Food Bank; and the Canton Historical Museum. In thanking the CVFC for its donation, representatives from the beneficiaries shared how they will be using the funds:

“We will use this wonderful donation to redesign and restore a number of our displays, making them more interactive. This will enable the Museum to tell additional stories about our town.”
Claire Cote, Director Senior Social Services
“CVFC’s much appreciated donation will help significantly in ensuring Canton residents stay warm. Despite a mild winter and lower deliverable fuel costs, there are still people who struggle to keep their homes and families warm. I am proud to work with the Canton Emergency Fuel Bank in an effort to keep our neighbors, of all ages and abilities, comfortable.”
The Canton Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. is a non-profit, independent fire corporation that acts as both a social and philanthropic association, sponsoring and hosting annual events, such as the LobsterFest.
CVFC is comprised of both active and retired firefighters who support the work of the Town Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department, because they know and never forget why volunteer firefighters and EMTs do what they do for their community.
