The event will benefit Canton Food Bank and Canton Fuel Bank.

From Focus on Canton:
CANTON, CT - After seven years, the annual Focus on Canton “Walk for Hunger” may have gotten a new look- and a new name- but the community-minded spirit and philanthropic philosophy behind the event have stayed exactly the same. The event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 17th has broadened its scope to not only benefit the Canton Food Bank, as it has for the past seven years, but also the Canton Fuel Bank, which provides fuel assistance to qualified residents in need.
“The Walk for Food and Fuel is an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and help our neighbors in need,” said event coordinator, Rina Pane. “It doesn’t take much to make a difference. Every donation and every participant are important.”

The Walk is an initiative of Focus on Canton, a non-profit community based group dedicated to nurturing, assisting, and enabling the residents of Canton. According to Focus on Canton’s website, it was created to coordinate community efforts to assist Canton residents with personal and community needs not otherwise met, and the Walk is a crucial component of that work.
“We rely on the support and generosity of Canton residents to help us do what we do. The Walk for Food and Fuel makes a tremendous impact on the operations of the Canton Food Bank and the families we serve,” said Pat Lazauski, Director of the Canton Food Bank.
