Each November, Cheshire Food Drive, Inc. coordinates a townwide volunteer experience. Beginning with donations collected in public schools, local businesses, and neighborhoods, the Cheshire Food Drive culminates in a 2-day gathering on the First Congregational Church Green. During that weekend, their volunteers accept both food and monetary donations on the Church Green and in front of Stop &amp; Shop. The nonprofit Cheshire Food Drive, Inc. provides 100 percent of the funding for the town's Food Voucher Program administered by the Human Services Department and runs a yearly townwide food drive to help stock local food pantries.
