A Salutatorian's Salute

2011 Cheshire High School Salutatorian Brendan Pier serves up memories of the tennis team and his academic future.

Here is the announcement about Brendan Pier being chosen salutatorian:

Brendan is the son of Susan Pier and James Pier.  He is a model to his peers and an inspiration to many.  He challenged himself at CHS by taking a challenging academic program with great success. 

He has been inducted into the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and the Math Honor Society.  He received the Yale Book Award and was named AP Scholar in 2010.  Brendan earned Distinguished Honors all four years at CHS.  Brendan’s teachers describe him as one of the finest young men to attend Cheshire High School.

Brendan has earned an abundance of awards and distinctions including the Scholar Leader Award, the Scholar Athlete Award, and was a three time member of the All SCC Academic team for tennis. 

His interest in leadership led him to serve as Vice President of the Class of 2011 since 2009 and as Captain of the tennis team.  Brendan is an active member of Habitat for Humanity and has participated in food drives and volunteered at soup kitchens.  He takes an interest in his classmates’ success by serving as a Peer Tutor in French and Chemistry.

Brendan is poised for success in college and beyond as a result of his ability to develop clear goals for himself and by applying tenacious effort.  Brendan will be attending Boston College in the fall.
