A Valedictorian's View
Audrey Zhang, the 2011 Cheshire High School Valedictorian, chats about what it takes to be a top scholar.
Here is the announcement from Cheshire Public School's about the choice of Audrey Zhang as valedictorian:
Audrey is the daughter of Wei Zhang and Yuling Chen. She has taken a rigorous course of study including numerous Advanced Placement courses and has been recognized widely by the College Board. Audrey is an active member of the National Honor Society and Vice President of the Science National Honor Society. Her achievement is marked by earning Distinguished Honor Roll all four quarters of each school year. The teachers who know her best say that she defines the term scholar.
Audrey is the recipient of numerous awards including the Harvard Book Award, the Fred Willets First-Year Chemistry Award, and earned a Perfect Paper distinction on the National Latin Exam. She is a distinguished musician playing the piano and as the Principal Clarinet in the Cheshire High School Symphony Orchestra.

She takes a genuine interest in leadership and local politics serving as the Secretary to the Young Democrats at CHS and volunteering state and National campaigns for Elizabeth Esty, Dan Malloy, and Chris Murphy.
Audrey’s academic achievement, interests and participation in a variety of activities makes her a well rounded young person ready for the challenges that lay ahead. Audrey will be attending Harvard College in the fall.
