Artsplace Mural to be Unveiled

The public is invited to join artist Tony Falcone, students, teachers and Artsplace staff at the unveiling of the new “History of Painting” mural at a reception on Tuesday from 5:00-5:30 pm at Artsplace, 1220 Waterbury Rd.

The mural project was funded with a grant from the Cheshire Education Foundation and was supervised by professional muralist Cheshire native Tony Falcone.

Falcone worked with Cheshire High School students from an Advanced Placement Studio Art Class this spring.  Together, students, with guidance from Falcone, explored details of well-known paintings from prehistoric cave art to contemporary art.  They then chose special features to highlight on 2’ X 2’ panels to create the mural.   Special assistance was provided by Melanie Rice and CHS AP art instructor, Michael Earley.
