Scholarship Night for Cheshire Students

Connecticut Community Foundation & American Savings Foundation Host Scholarship Information Night Feb. 23

 WATERBURY, CT - On Feb., 23, scholarship program directors from the Connecticut Community Foundation (CCF) and American Savings Foundation — the two largest scholarship providers in the Greater Waterbury area — will discuss their programs’ application processes, required information, and key deadlines at a free information session from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the Silas Bronson Library in Waterbury. 

 Information about other local scholarship programs also will be provided. RSVP is requested. Please call (860) 827-2556 to register.

CCF is a public charitable foundation which administers nearly 100 different scholarship funds, generously established by area donors in their 21-town service area. CCF awarded approximately 300 scholarships totaling more than $600,000 in the 2010-2011 academic year.  The deadline to apply for CCF scholarships is March 15. Students may download the “General Application” form at www.conncf.org/guidelines-applications

The American Savings Foundation is a private, independent foundation which awards grants to community organizations and college scholarships to students in the 64 Connecticut towns it serves.  The Foundation awarded 375 scholarships totaling $625,000 for the 2010-2011 academic year.  The deadline for ASF scholarships is March 31. Students may apply through www.asfdn.org.
