Cheshire High School Students Shine on AP Exams

Four Cheshire High School students — Abigail Bauer, Lindsey Bonitz, Songshan Guo, and Sriharsha Kondapally — have qualified for the National Advance Placement Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. 

Twenty-four students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.  

These students are Abigail Bauer, Lindsey Bonitz, Andrew Carroll, Aida Feng, Laura Filion, Patrick Germain, Kathleen Giles, Blake Giosa, Songshan Guo, Sriharsha Kondapally, Alexander Lord, Hevin Na, Saparja Nag, Sagar Nakrani, Rebecca Nguyen, Aneri Pattani, Katherine Pier, Alexandra Richardson, Rohan Roy, Summit Singhaviranon, Kayleigh Torok, Angela Yang, Lukas Yasuda, and Zhihan Zou.

Twenty-seven students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.  

These students are Rebecca Alvarez-Petit, Jack Bonadies, Taylor Bond, Caitlin Burner, Joseph Cotton, Thomas Cotton, Aohan Dang, Emily Depalma, Brian Dickinson, Brittany Disorbo, Ruth Douglas, Rachel Feldman, William Fricke, Nicholas Haberli, Jason Hall, Gregory Han, Ryan Hannon, Anirudh Katipally, Julia Meakin, Hannah Purtell, Matthew Quinones, Selmon Rafey, Kelly Reid, Kathryn Schmitt, Nicole Stauffer, Jessica Wallinger, and Blake Wetmore.

Forty-five students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher.  The AP Scholars are Kashif Ahmed, Aziza Alam, Atnafu Alemseged, Jack Amato, Landon Bassett, Lindsay Below, Jessica Bertenshaw, Anthony Carbone, Patrick Carey, Charles Caron, Theresa Cashore, Rebecca Chen, Sierra Dennehy, Lindsey Garibaldi, Nina Godfrey, Natalie Hackett, Courtney Hall, Jonathan Hauser, Jacob Henderson, Nicholas Jakowenko, Brian Johnson, Jessica Joseph, Kathleen Kalbian, Benjamin Kaplan, Jesse Kenney, Kyujung Kim, Emily Larkin, Ju Lee, Devin Lerner, Katherine Lynch, Daniel Massucci, Mariah Melendez, Patrick Morley, Liam Nicoll, Aaron Parlier, Owen Peters, Lila Purvis, Jonathan Rasimas, Rachael Robitaille, Catherine Rodgers, Sooriya Sundaram, Madeline Tenenbaum, Meghan Van Wie, Judith Xu, and Nick Yu.

These students have at least one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.  About 18 percent of the nearly 1.8 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams.
