Cheshire Homes Rank 22nd in Cost in State
A new report shows Cheshire homes are more expensive than nearly two dozen other real estate markets in Connecticut.

A home listing report released Wednesday by a national real estate firm shows Cheshire ranks 22nd out of 59 markets in the cost of an average home in the state.
Cheshire's average home cost of $376,365 places it close to the middle of rankings of cost with Wallingford listed as the 23rd most expensive and West Hartford as the 21st most expensive real estate market.
The survey by Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC found New Britain was the most affordable market in the state while Greenwich came in as the state’s most expensive market, where the average four-bedroom, two-bathroom home has a listing price of $1.15 million. New Britain's average cost was $165,310.

Compared to the national average of $293,251, the average home in Connecticut overall was $451,012. The price is based on properties listed between September 2010 and March 2011 from more than 2,300 North American markets.
The survey reported there are 775 U.S. markets averaging $200,000 or less for a four-bedroom home.
