Cheshire Public Library Earns $14k In Grants Through Energy Challenge Program

The Cheshire Public Library has just received $14,200 in grants through the Connecticut Neighbor-to-Neighbor Energy Challenge program that will make the library and the town more energy efficient.

The library received a $9,200 grant on Tuesday to replace the outdoor lighting of the building with LED lights and another $5,000 to promote energy efficiency programs at the library, according to the New Haven Register.

Along with those programs, the library also has solar panels on its roof, which has saved the town between $4,500 and $5,000 in the past five years, according to the newspaper. To read more about the grants, click here.
