This year Jeannie Kenkare, 38, of Cheshire, the cofounder of Urgent Care Connecticut, was named to the magazine's "Class of 2013."

"Kenkare cofounded Urgent Care of Connecticut with the idea that health care in acute situations could be offered affordably, and without the ER wait," the magazine website says of her. "Five years, five clinics and 100,000 patients later, she’s chief medical officer, runs clinical operations and supervises 20-plus providers for the $7-million-a-year company, whose patient satisfaction is in the 99th percentile. As testament to her success, she’s been invited to work with the state on health-care cost-containment issues; she also volunteers her services teaching physical-examination techniques at Yale."
