Cheshire Under Flood Watch

Up to three inches of additional rain could fall by Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

 The National Weather Service has placed Cheshire under a flood watch until late Wednesday night. Periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Up to three inches of rainfall is forecast which could cause street flooding and flooding of small brooks and streams

"Any thunderstorms that occur can also be expected to bring torrential downpours and locally significant urban flooding," according to the state Department of Emergency Management.

Another update from emergency officials will be issued at at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning or sooner if significant flooding is imminent.
