CHS Student Charged with Stealing Band Instruments

An 18-year-old Cheshire High School student has been charged with larceny and burglary in the theft of instruments from the band room.

Band instruments worth up to $5,000, stolen from the band room at Cheshire High School, have been returned, according to Cheshire Police

Cheshire High School senior Olivia Raucci, 18, of 768 Highland Avenue was arrested last week at the school. She faces a number of charges including  larceny in the third-degree from a building, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third-degree, burglary in the third-degree, and conspiracy to commit burglary in the third-degree.

Cheshire Police Lt. James Fasano said several instruments were stolen about two months ago and they have been returned. "Those instruments can be expensive," he said.

Two juveniles, whose names weren't released due to their age, were also arrested in the incident, Fasano said.

School officials couldn't be reached Tuesday afternoon to provide more information. The investigation was conducted by the police department's youth officer, Detective Ruben Morales.
