Creativity Goes Statewide at Odyssey of the Mind Tournament
Hundred of teams competed in the 30th annual Odyssey of the Mind Tournament in Bristol on Saturday.
Odyssey of the Mind allows students as young as kindergarten age to learn creative, problem-solving skills while working toward a common goal. Each year, teams throughout Connecticut gather at a state tournament where teams compete to show they have the most creative way to solve a problem. Teams create props, write a skit or build a vehicle to accomplish multiple tasks within an eight-minute window.
Cheshire has three residents on the Odyssey of the Mind Board of Directors: Aili Arisco, Cathy Forman and Mitch Forman. All are long-term volunteers for the organization which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
The winning teams from the state competition advance to the World Finals which will be held this year at the University of Maryland in late May.
