Historic Button Factory Priced at $1.25 million

The price for the 1850 factory is announced about a month after it was put up for sale.

The historic factory is listed on the Connecticut Economic Resource Center SiteFinder, a free service which provides an online database of available commercial properties in the state.

The property is defined on the site as "An opportunity to develop a mixed-use complex along the picturesque Farmington Canal. This landmark site offers over three acres of property... and all the conveniences downtown Cheshire has to offer."

In an earlier interview, the listing agency discussed the future of the property on West Main Street noting that its location next to the soon-to-be expanded Farmington Canal pathway gives it an important profile in town.

Realtor Steve Miller of Levey Miller Maretz, LLC of Woodbridge said there are four or five buildings on the site but the large brick building at the front of the lot is probably the only one worth saving.

Owner Peter Dalton bought the factory building in 1996 and owns the adjacent Dalton Enterprises Company on Willow Street.
