Obituary: Rosann Garrand Mallinson, 77, of Cheshire

CHESHIRE, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) Rosann Garrand Mallinson, 77, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20th, 2021 at the MidState Medical Center, Meriden with her daughter by her side and holding her hand.

Born in New Haven on May 31, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Roderick Garrand, Jr. and Susan DelGrego Garrand.

She graduated from St. Mary’s High School class of 1961. Rosann continued her studies at Southern CT State Teachers College.

To say Rosann was a people person is an understatement. She was generous with her warm, welcoming smile and available to listen to whatever anyone wanted to share.

Her home was always open to family, neighbors, and her children’s friends.

For years, she worked in a variety of customer service positions.

It was in 1998 that Rosann took on her most loved “job” when she became a Grandma.

Mother of Michele A. (Allen) Moore, Richard M. Mallinson and the late Russell T. Mallinson III. Grandmother of Emily and Nina Moore.

Sister of Karen Swanson and the late Brian and Roderick Garrand III. Rosann was “Auntie” to many.

Life-long friend to Nancy “Mrs. B.” Barr.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made towards a future scholarship in Rosann’s name.
