Rep. Liz Linehan Supports State Bond Commission's Approval Loan

The $4.5 Mil loan is for the EDAC Technologies Corporation to retain and create new jobs through the First Five Program.

From Democrats House Office: Rep. Liz Linehan (D-Cheshire/Southington/Wallingford) praised the State Bond Commission’s approval today of a $4.5 million loan to EDAC Technologies Corporation through the First Five Program.

Under the loan agreement, EDAC Technologies will retain 349 jobs and create 200 new jobs at its Cheshire facility. The funding will assist in the acquisition of machinery and equipment.

The First Five jobs initiative through the Department of Economic and Community Development provides financial assistance for large-scale business projects to encourage business expansion, relocation and job creation. EDAC is one of 15 participants in the program to date.

“Manufacturers like EDAC Technologies are essential to Connecticut’s future economic growth, and this agreement will bring additional well-paying, skilled jobs into Cheshire,”Rep. Linehan said. “Supporting our manufacturers and keeping them here in Connecticut is important to the health of our economy, and I will work to ensure that the town of Cheshire and Connecticut taxpayers see the results promised in this agreement.”

EDAC Technologies engineers and manufactures components for the aerospace, commercial, medical, industrial and machine tool markets. They are headquartered in Cheshire with six sites throughout New England.
