Join us for a festive morning at beautiful Waveny Park
as we run and walk through the scenic trails in full Christmas spirit! Kids can enjoy our Santa Dash right in front of the historic Waveny Mansion, and adults can choose between the 5K or the one-mile walk.
We typically welcome 250–300 participants, making this a lively and community-filled holiday tradition.
🎁 Running for a Cause 
All proceeds help fund the food supplies for our 100,000-meal food packing event with Feed My Starving Children on March 7, 2026 at New Canaan High School.

The Bruce invites you to take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle. Come and relax in a serene setting and learn how to create a unique Freeform crochet wall hanging. This workshop, inspired by Ursula Van Rydingsvard’s works on paper displayed in the new exhibition States of Becoming, will guide participants through an open-ended creative crochet experience. Freeform crochet does not follow a pattern or rules and instead invites the maker to create an artistic and improvisational piece. Participants will leave with a beautiful crochet wall hanging that they can give as a gift or proudly display in their home. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own hooks and yarn. This class is best for advanced beginners who know the crochet basics (chain, single, double and treble crochet).
Fee: $16-member, $20 non-member

Hello! I am a filmmaker who was raised in Darien, Connecticut and am an Alumna of Darien High School (I served as school president in 2016). I am currently an MFA film student at Columbia University and am casting extras for a short film I am shooting in Darien on January 11th. I am looking for kids, any gender and any race ages 5-12.&nbsp;This project is deeply personal and I would love to get local kids involved.&nbsp;The shoot will be short and easy-&nbsp;food will be provided. Our MFA films go to festivals all around the world and it will be a great opportunity&nbsp;for young actors who want to connect with directors as well as gain on-camera acting experience (also it will just be fun!).
