DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Police Department issued a release Monday that another city man was arrested for sexual assault after an investigation. Nelson Cassiano, 64, of Danbury, was charged with sexual assault in the 2nd degree, risk of injury with sexual contact and risk of injury, according to the report.  Danbury police Detective Roger Hancock said that on Aug. 30, 2016, the Danbury Police Department received a complaint involving the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old female. The suspect was identified as Nelson Cassiano, police said. Detectives from the Special Victims Unit of the Danbury Police Department initiated an investigation and on Sept. 23, 2016 and a warrant for Nelson Cassiano's arrest was granted by Danbury Superior Court. Cassiano was arrested and taken into custody by detectives from the Special Victims Unit without incident, police said. He is being held on a court set bond of $200,000. Danbury police photo
