The Blue River Jazz Band to Perform in Danbury
The concert will be held October 23 at the Richter House.

DANBURY, CT - Richter Association for the Arts presents The Blue River Jazz Band, led by Chris Coulter on Sunday, October 23, at 3 p.m. at Richter House, 100 Aunt Hack Rd., Danbury.
The band highlights America's traditional, classic, and swing jazz music from the early 20th century. They feature several combinations of instrumentation and play fabulous music from New Orleans, along with songs written and made famous by great jazz artists like Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller and many more.

Chris Coulter has been performing on saxophone, flute and voice for over thirty years. He is a Connecticut state-certified music educator and currently teaches music in New Canaan Public Schools. Chris has performed with such jazz greats as Clark Terry, Gerry Mulligan, and Bob Brookmeyer. He has recorded commercials, award-winning children's videos, and is featured on several CD's with a number of local musicians. Most recently Chris has been traveling to New Orleans to study and play classic traditional jazz in the place of its birth, including performing at Preservation Hall.
Performing with Chris will be: Matt DeChamplain on piano, Steve Taylor on bass, and Bob D'Angelo on drums.
