Brake Failure Sends Truck, Trailer And Boat Into Candlewood Lake In Danbury

DANBURY, CT — A truck, trailer and boat rolled into Candlewood Lake late Friday after the truck’s brakes malfunctioned at the Hayestown Road boat launch, police said.

The incident occurred just before midnight as the driver was loading the boat, according to the Danbury Police Department. No injuries were reported.

Police said the Danbury Fire Department, the department’s dive team, and Modzelewski’s Towing responded to assist in removing the vehicle and boat from the water.
