City of Danbury Announces Dog Park Grand Opening

The City will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for the dog park October 24.

From the City of Danbury:

DANBURY, CT - The City of Danbury will officially open the Danbury Dog Park on Monday, October 24th.

“We are so excited to provide a place for Danbury dog lovers to exercise their companions,” said Mayor Mark Boughton. “Dog parks are one of the fastest growing recreational spaces that a community can provide for its residents. Last year alone, Danbury saw a 6.5% increase in the number of licensed dogs in the city. This project will help service that rising demand.”

“We are thrilled to be adding an off-leash dog park here in the City of Danbury,” said President of Council Joseph Cavo. “Within our 44 square miles, we are blessed to have many wonderful parks that provide our residents with a wide range of recreational opportunities. This dog park will be a great addition to our diverse recreational inventory here in the Hat City.”

Residents should be aware when using the facility that they will not be allowed to park on the side street due to airport restrictions.

The ribbon cutting is open to the public and will be held at 10am on Monday, October 24th.
