Danbury Deli Destroyed After Car Crashes Into Building: Police
Residents are banning together to raise funds for the business. Here is how you can help.

At 8:45 a.m., police say officers responded to the business where a witness said the driver reversed out of the building and took off down Candlewood Drive in his debris-covered car. The driver Sean Wiedl, 25, of Danbury was uninjured, and said he fell asleep causing him to not stop for the stop sign before crashing into the building.

Owner Marcos Aguilar took to Facebook Sunday to let customers know he and his family were safe, and to say the family looks forward to reopening.
Aguilar also posted a video surveying the damage of the restaurant. The video shows a store littered with debris and damage.

Gofundme user Alex Kep Koeppel of Danbury started a campaign Sunday after the crash. The campaign has raised over $400 in two days.
Wiedl was charged with failing to obey a stop sign and evading responsibility. He was released on a $100 bond and is due in Danbury superior court on Oct. 18.
