State police say a Danbury man drove more than 110 mph and failed to move over for a tow truck on I-84 in Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury man is facing multiple charges after state police said he drove more than 110 mph on Interstate 84 and failed to move over for a tow truck operator working on the highway.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday, when a Trooper from Troop A in Southbury spotted a black Mitsubishi sedan speeding in the right lane of I-84 west in Danbury. Police said the vehicle passed the patrol car at a high rate of speed and did not slow down or change lanes for a tow truck stopped on the right shoulder, nearly striking the tow operator who was outside the vehicle.
The Trooper caught up to the sedan and initiated a traffic stop before Exit 5. Police identified the driver as Hunter Leili, 30, of Danbury. According to authorities, Leili admitted he was traveling between 110 and 120 mph, acknowledged it was unsafe, and apologized. Police also said the vehicle’s registration was expired.
