Danbury Earns Prestigious Ranking On Best Places To Live In U.S. List

The authors of the new report detail why they feel Danbury is one of the best places to live in the U.S.

DANBURY, CT – Mayor Roberto L. Alves announced that Danbury has been ranked among the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the United States in 2025 by Livability, according to a news release posted on the city's website.

Livability compiles data on thousands of U.S. cities, ranking them according to economy, cost of living, education, safety, environment, amenities, health, and transportation.

“We’re proud to be named one of the Top 100 best places to live in the U.S.,” said Alves in a prepared statement. “Danbury prides itself in being a safe, business-friendly, and vibrant community that provides residents with a great quality of life. Danbury offers incredible amenities to our residents, and it is an honor to be recognized for it.”

"In its report, Livability highlights Danbury’s many strengths, including its geographical location, numerous parks, events, restaurants, and shops," according to the mayor's news release. "It also recognizes the city’s work ethic and its unique cultural diversity."

In its write-up, Livability wrote: "Danbury is home to a charming downtown, excellent schools, an arts community and great schools. Danbury is also just a hop, skip and a jump away from New York City. Danbury’s endless roster of things to do and relative affordability make it the perfect place to plant roots."

Danbury scored a total of 690 out of 1,000. It received its highest score of 72 for economy, followed by health and amenities at 69, and safety, 68. Its lowest score was for environment, with a 31.
