Firefighters Battle Blaze In Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Firefighters broke into a burning Danbury home to fight a fire on McDermott Street Friday afternoon. Firefighters say they responded to 23 McDermott street for a report of smoke coming from the house.

Danbury Fire Department spokesman James A. Gagliardo said firefighters quickly put out the fire, and conducted a search of the structure ventilating the smoke.

Eversource was called to the scene to secure utilities to the home. All of the home's occupants and their pets were safe.

The Danbury Fire Marshal's office is investigating the fire.
