First-Time Home Buyer Workshop Oct. 15

Find out steps to home ownership

Thinking about becoming a homeowner? Learn all about the procedures and key terms of home buying at a free workshop for first-time home buyers on Monday, October 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, 51 Austin Street, Danbury.

Speakers, including Beverly Hoppie of Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust, Donna Chillemi of Fairfield County Bank, Daniel DiBartolomeo, attorney, and Patty McManus of William Pitt Realty, will explain the steps to take before searching for a home, the advantages of home ownership, and how to qualify for a mortgage.

The workshop will also review the basics of home mortgages and practical financial planning, and Housatonic Habitat volunteer Allison Homberg will discuss the Habitat model, which includes a 0% Habitat-held mortgage for families who meet specific criteria.
