Danbury-Departing Plane Crashes In NY; 1 Body Found
A total of three people were onboard the plane that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday, officials say.

DANBURY, CT — A plane that took off from Danbury crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near the Hamptons in New York, according to the United States Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard was notified around 11:10 a.m. Saturday that a twin-engine Piper PA-34 had crashed into the water about a mile south of Quogue.
USCG Lt. Jr. Grade Rodion Mazin confirmed Saturday that one body was found and the search continued for two others. "They're still searching," he told Southampton Patch.

A total of three people were onboard the plane, according to USCG Petty Officer Steve Strohmaier of USCG Station Shinnecock.
A debris field and oil sheen has been located near the reported crash site.

Suffolk County Marine, Bay Constables, a commercial salvage crew, as well as a multiple aircrews from the New York Air National Guard are assisting in the search.
Coast Guard Cutter Bonito, an 87-' patrol boat, was also underway en route to the scene. An aircrew from Air Station Cape Cod is scheduled be dispatched to relieve the Air National Guard, the USCG said.
