Richter Arts Association Closes Out Season with a Jazz Concert

The final performance of Richter Association for the Arts' fall season will feature a trio of jazz musicians in Danbury.

DANBURY, CT - Richter Association for the Arts closes its fall season on Sunday, October 30, with a 3 p.m. jazz concert at Richter House, 100 Aunt Hack Rd. Danbury. WCSU students Anthony Pellegrini on saxophone, Niles Spaulding on bass and Larry Davis on drums comprise the trio.

Anthony Pellegrini began his musical experience at the age of 8 with the clarinet. He now is a junior majoring in jazz saxophone performance, playing in various ensembles both inside and outside of school, as well as fronting a quintet of his peers, know collectively as “Four and One”. Pellegrini has been fortunate to study with the likes of Jimmy Greene, Gary Smulyan, Tony Lustig, Luis Fernando Jimenez, and many others, and hopes to continue expanding his learning experience and love of music.

Lawrence (Larry) Davis is currently a third year music student with a focus on jazz performance. He studies the drum set privately with Jeff Siegel and percussion with Dave Smith. Lawrence is an active performer in musical theaters, small groups, large ensembles, and recording sessions. He also teaches private students, local music store students,and in high schools.

Niles Spaulding is a New Fairfield native majoring in music education with a focus on jazz bass. In addition to playing jazz, Niles is the bassist in the WCSU Orchestra and several local bands throughout the area. Niles studies with bassist Dave Ruffels and hopes to teach in the greater Danbury area when he graduates in 2018.
