Two Arrested After Danbury Drug Deal: Police

Police said two men were seen conducting a drug deal on Main Street before they were arrested.

DANBURY, CT — Two out-of-town men were arrested after police saw them conduct a drug sale in a Main Street parking lot Monday. Police said Tamel Peterson, 29, of Naugatuck and Timothy Martin, 63, were arrested separately shortly after the deal went down.

Police said they received reports of Peterson selling drugs in Danbury, and said he met Martin in the parking lot of a Main Street Business. Both men were allowed to separate before they were stopped by investigators.

Peterson was arrested on possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, and sale of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place. He was held on a $50,000 bond and a remand custody order was issued by the state's parole department.

Martin was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place. He was released on a promise to appear.
