50 Bags of Heroin Found During Hampton Traffic Stop: State Police
A Route 6 patrol in Hampton resulted in the seizure of 50 bags of heroin and the arrest of a Brooklyn man.

At approximately 7:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, state police were patrolling Route 6 in Hampton when they observed a white Buick Regatta traveling east on Route 6 allegedly commit an undisclosed traffic violation, according to a press release from state police.
Connecticut State Police Quality of Life Task Force Troop D-Danielson troopers stopped the vehicle on Route 6 and interviewed the driver. During the interview, narcotics were detected in the vehicle and consent to search the vehicle was requested and granted, police said.
“K9 Dodie, a Labrador Retriever trained in narcotic detection, located 50 bags of heroin hidden in a natural void under the center console/gear shift area,” according to state police.

The bags of heroin were seized and the driver, David Leach, was taken into custody and transported to Troop D, where he was processed and released on bond.
