East Hampton Falls To Old Saybrook In Class S Boys Soccer Finals
The Bellringers had been seeking their first state title since 2014, but came up short against Old Saybrook, which won its fourth straight.

HARTFORD, CT — On Nov. 11, Old Saybrook soccer coach Steve Waters won his milestone 600th game, the most by a high school coach in Connecticut history. Victory No. 602 was even sweeter, however, as his Rams avenged a late-season loss to East Hampton by defeating the Bellringers 2-0 in the Class S championship game Sunday at Trinity Health Stadium.
Old Saybrook won the title for the fourth straight time, and provided Waters with his 11th state title overall. He won eight championships during his long tenure at Farmington High School.
Game officials voted Ram goalkeeper London Sweeney as the player of the game. He made a number of outstanding saves, including a dive to his right which robbed a scoring threat by Oren Wilson 15 minutes into the contest.

Two and a half minutes after that great stop, Old Saybrook brought the ball to the other end of the field, and a nice move by senior co-captain Kevin DeCapua beat East Hampton goalkeeper Thomas Fenton to provide what proved to be the winning goal. Brayden Cody earned an assist on the goal.
The fifth-seeded Rams added an insurance goal by Cameron Deangelo with just over a minute to play, assisted by Bradley Kulmann.
