East Hampton Police Officer On Administrative Leave: PD

The officer has been with the department for about 25 years, according to department administration.

EAST HAMPTON, CT — A local police officer, Michael Salafia, is on paid administrative leave, according to the department.

Police Chief Dennis Woessner confirmed Salafia’s status via email on Tuesday.

Woessner refused to provide additional information, including the reason for the leave, when it started, or how long it is expected to last.

Woessner said Salafia, a member of the department for about 25 years, remains employed by the town of East Hampton.

“I will not comment further on this personnel matter,” Woessner said.

Officer Matthew Hanlon, union president for the East Hampton Police Department, said he has no comment. Salafia could not be reached.
