First Half of Budget Review Completed

The Board of Selectmen wrapped up their review of next year's proposed budget.

Last week, the selectmen spent two nights combing through the $32.8 million proposed budget, according to The Middletown Press.

Deliberations will resume again tonight.

The proposed budget reflects a two percent increase from last year's budget, The Middletown Press reports. It includes a $20 million request for education.

The budget is up $641,113, or two percent, from last year. The Press reports the proposal would require a tax mill rate increase of .41 mills.
