Home Invasion Arrest Made in East Hampton Case

A Norwich man was arrested in connection with a December 2015 home invasion case.

East Hampton Police made an arrest in a home invasion case under investigation since December 2015. According to the police report at the time, two masked suspects entered a Middle Haddam Road home in East Hampton on Dec. 7, 2015, and walked upstairs.

“The homeowner confronted the suspects, which caused them to flee on foot,” police said in their report. “The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing with masks. One suspect was described as having a slight build. The suspects left the residence with the homeowner’s purse, containing a small amount of cash.”

A 33-year-old Norwich man was arrested on Sunday, March 27, taken into custody pursuant to an active warrant for his arrest in connection with the home invasion.

William Andre Colton, 33, of 43 Roosevelt Ave., Norwich, was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Commit Home Invasion
  • Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the 1st Degree
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 6th Degree

Police said Colton was unable to post the $100,000 surety bond and remained in police custody until his arraignment on Monday, March 28.
