Minor Injury Reported After Hayride Issue In East Hampton

EAST HAMPTON, CT — A minor injury was reported following an issue on a hayride in East Hampton on Sunday during an Oktoberfest event.
The incident occurred during a hayride at the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue on Chestnut Hill Road.

Stacey Golub, founder and executive director of the non-profit organization, said that one person had minor injuries to his hand when the ride bumped into a fence. He needed a bandage and an ice pack but stayed at the event.
Golub said that an ambulance was called as a precaution but wasn't needed.

She added that she was thankful for the quick response by the fire department and ambulance.
Golub said the 14th annual Oktoberfest was a "big success." The event was a fundraiser for the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue, which is "dedicated to saving the lives of neglected or abused draft horses as well as draft horses headed to slaughter."
