This structure is in the woods in East Hampton, off Lake Drive near its intersection with White Birch Road. These woods were clearly former farmlands (there are stonewalls that wind through this Middlesex Land Trust property) and it sits about 200 feet up hill from an obvious former house foundation.  We thought maybe it was also some kind of foundation, but that large stone slab on the top of the wall is perplexing. Also, the entire structure appears to be built into the hillside.  It's a mystery to us right now! If you know what this is, can you tell us in the comments below? Thanks!
