Plans to Be Revealed Tuesday for Portland's Old Elmcrest Hospital

Plans for the old Elmcrest Hospital property will be revealed by the developer at Tuesday’s Economic Development Commission meeting, the Middletown Press reports.

A proposed zoning text amendment presentation to the Planning and Zoning Commission will also take place two nights later, according to the Middletown Press. Tuesday’s meeting was requested by EDC Chairman Elwin Guild and will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The developer, Daniel Bertram has said he envisions high-end luxury apartments for the site, however nothing is definite, the Middletown Press reports. Further complicating matters are three 19th-century mansions on the Elmcrest campus that are listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
