Update: Police Find 19-Year-Old Girl Unharmed In East Hampton

Ashley Newell was missing for more than 24 hours.

Update:
The East Hampton Police Department reports that Ashley Newell was located in East Hampton at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday and is unharmed.

The East Hampton Police Department is currently searching for 19-year-old Ashley Newell of Chestnut Hill Road East Hampton. 

Newell was last seen at about 5 p.m. Wednesday on Chestnut Hill Road. 

Newell is a 19-year-old white female with reported cognitive challenges who ran away into a rural area of fields and dense woods.  Newell is 5 foot tall and weighs approximately 110lb.  She was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark pants.  Newell has a nose ring in her right nostril shaped like a flower.  The East Hampton Police are considering Newell to be an endagered person at this time.  

Portland Police, Connecticut State Police and East Hampton Fire agencies have all been requested to assist in the search.  Residents are asked to call the East Hampton Police Department should they have information on Newell's location.
